City Farm project
Bringing the countryside to the city and promoting a new kind of farming

The City Farm project provides a farming space in Tokyo’s largest rooftop garden (DiverCity Tokyo Plaza), giving city dwellers a chance to encounter food from the farm to the plate. Visitors will experience pleasant ocean breezes and feel a sense of openness as they gaze out at the Tokyo Bay area. They will also encounter organic crops and livestock.
This project gives farmers from rural communities a chance to showcase their marvellous work. In so doing, the project serves as a platform for promoting local revitalisation and job-creation in rural areas. It also connects city dwellers with farmers and promotes novel farming solutions, such as the use of IT in farming.
