On April 9th, syokubunken held its 8th annual barbecue at the City Farm Barbecue Terrace (located in the rooftop garden of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Koto ward), which Food’s Style operates.
Unfortunately it rained on the day, but as tents were provided and 250 people attended, the event was a great success despite the weather. The concept of the syokubunken-hosted barbecue is to directly connect consumers to the actual producers so that they can better understand the producer’s passion and devotion.
Participating producers included Aoki Youkeijou (Fujinomiya), Yuimarl Farm (Ishigaki Island, Okinawa), Kakunoshin (Iwate), Sano Farm (Shizuoka), Sanoman (Fujinomiya), Cotohi Oki Beef (Tokyo), Mitsubachi Chikura (Tokyo), Maeda Farm (Otawara, Tochigi), and Hamamatsu Lake Farm (Hamamatsu). The barbecue allowed the producers to communicate their commitment to consumers and the consideration they give to the environment and animal feed, both directly and through the food.
